I have worked in retail for far to many years to count and in all my time behind the register it has always astounded me when people try to pass fake bills. Do criminals really thing they are fooling people who deal with money all day long? None the less they still try. So my favorite way to catch them is to use a counterfeit money detector pen and you can pick one up from itestcash.com. This site is great. It provides tons of different options to protect you from counterfeiting.
The pen is really self explanatory, all you have to do is mark the questionable bill and if it is real then a light amber / tan ink line will appear. If not, a dark brown / black line will appear.
Hopefully store clerks will never to have to deal with this situation but if you do, then the money pen is the easiest and quickest way to handle the bill.
